About Aharon Stern

Aharon, a father of 13, works as a mohel and teaches Torah in Bnei Brak.  Aharon began volunteering for the local ambulance crew at age 16 and has been involved in lifesaving ever since.  This passionate volunteer does nothing halfway.  Here is one small example of the countless lifesaving stories he has experienced in his long career in emergency response.

Aharon was on the road when he received an urgent alert regarding a two and a half day old infant who was choking.  Switching directions, he raced to the scene.  Rushing into the home he found a frantic mother next to their newborn daughter who was an ominous shade of blue.  The experienced medic quickly took out his suction device from his birthing kit and proceeded to extract amniotic fluids, which had remained in the infant’s lungs from the recent birth and were now obstructing the baby’s airway.  Within seconds, the infant’s airway was clear and the baby began breathing normally. The baby’s cries were pure joy to the grateful mother’s ears.  Just then, another United Hatzalah medic came racing into the home and Aaron informed him that the crisis was over.  To his great surprise, the medic took the baby into his arms and began shedding tears.  The medic was none other than the baby’s father, who thankfully had been preceded by an even faster United Hatzalah volunteer.  Aharon’s colleague and his wife emotionally thanked him for saving the life of their new and precious daughter.
