Aiman is the United Hatzalah regional director for Kfar Kassem, a hill-top Israeli Arab city 12 miles east of Tel Aviv. Aiman is an electrician by profession. Many of his co-workers have been injured in workplace accidents. One time, a worker fell from a ladder, and there was nothing Aiman could do. He called an ambulance and it took 40 minutes to arrive. The helplessness and frustration he experienced spurred Aiman to become a United Hatzalah volunteer.
Given the rugged terrain, relatively long distances, and unmarked roads, it frequently takes ambulances a long time to arrive on the scene. Aiman is very appreciative of the impact made by United Hatzalah’s ambucycle activities in his city. Having local volunteers who know the area, speak the language and understand the culture is a huge benefit to the health and welfare of the citizens in the area.
