Baruch works as a salesman for a drywall construction company and lives with his wife and three children in Beitar Illit. He has been volunteering for United Hatzalah for two years and he considers it a great privilege, as well as a source of extraordinary satisfaction.
In Baruch’s line of work, he often has to meet with clients, and he is very careful to be on time for his business appointments…….with one exception. When he receives an alert from the United Hatzalah dispatch center, he is focused on the call and only the call. Such was the case when he was alerted to a serious traffic accident while en route to a very important business meeting. Baruch hit the gas and in mere seconds was at the site of the crash. Jumping out of his car and grabbing his medical kit, he immediately provided critical medical intervention to the victims, who were astonished at Baruch’s lightning fast arrival. Only after all the victims had been treated and evacuated to the hospital, did Baruch continue on his way.
Baruch was quite surprised when he arrived at the client’s office over 30 minutes late to find his client arriving at exactly the same time. The client too, had incurred an unexpected delay due to heavy traffic. Baruch told his client the story of what just happened and his client was amazed and told Baruch how much he respects him for his dedication to save lives. As Baruch is wont to say “One never loses out by helping another.”
