Chaim lives in Tiberias and works in hi-tech. He’s been volunteering as an EMT since 1992, and as soon as United Hatzalah began operations in his region he joined the team. Like many United Hatzalah volunteers he is “bitten by the bug” and saving lives has become a part of who he is.
Chaim will always remember being called to treat a 45 year-old man who had suffered a heart attack in a sports hall. Chaim started CPR until an intensive care ambulance arrived. The man received around ten defibrillator shocks, and the medics succeeded in returning a pulse and spontaneous breathing. He was transferred to the hospital and remained unconscious for two months, in stable but critical condition. Today, Chaim sees him walking about the streets. Seeing this man living his life gives Chaim the strength to continue volunteering with United Hatzalah.
