Rayn Amasha is a 23 year-old Druze volunteer from Usifiyeh near Daliyat al-Karmel. Rayn is an altruistic individual who began volunteering out of a desire to save lives and help people within his community. Growing up in his hometown, Rayn was disturbed by the amount of hard working laborers, village elders, rambunctious children and birthing mothers who were unable to get adequate and timely medical care. Since joining United Hatzalah and receiving an ambucycle, Rayn has become an honored and sought after resource in his community.
One day, Rayn received an alert to an unconscious baby. He got to the address in under 90 seconds on his United Hatzalah ambucycle and started CPR. After a few minutes the baby’s pulse returned and he was taken to hospital. Today, whenever Rayn sees the young child he feels an amazing sense of kinship and satisfaction.
