Tzion works as a schochet and is a father of five and a resident of Rechasim. Tzion’s greatest pleasure is helping people, and he finds volunteering with United Hatzalah to be the perfect way to do just that. For over 10 year he has been responding to a myriad of medical emergencies in the Rechasim/Haifa region. Given the relatively long open distances in the region, he frequently finds himself as a vital link in the chain of lifesaving.
Recently, Tzion was driving down the highway when he was alerted to a three-car accident just up the road. Within 30 seconds he was on scene, triaging and treating the 6 injured victims. Another medic arrived and together they staunched bleeding, bandaged wounds and splinted suspected fractures. The victims with suspected back or neck injuries were immobilized. Tzion carefully monitored their condition and reassured the shaken victims during the long 30 minute wait for the ambulance to arrive. The injured people were exceedingly grateful to Tzion and his colleague for being there for them.
