About Yehuda Ziso

Yehuda works in marketing and lives with his wife and child in Bnei Brak.  For the past four years, this committed volunteer has been responding to medical emergencies around the clock in this bustling and populous city. His heroics have included reuniting lost toddlers (see accompanying photo) and even delivering little infants (no accompanying photo).

One such story occurred at 4:00 AM, when Yehuda’s walkie-talkie jolted him awake, alerting him to a nearby woman in the advanced stages of labor.  Jumping out of bed, Yehuda was out the door in seconds and racing to the address.  When he arrived, the baby’s head had just begun to emerge.  Yehuda quickly opened his medical kit and proceeded to coach the woman through the birthing process, calming her and her frantic husband in the process.  As the birth progressed, Yehuda saw that the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck.  The woman sensed something was wrong and began panicking.  The experienced medic skillfully unraveled the cord from around the baby’s head and neck while at the same time calming the mother-to-be.  Thankfully, from this point on, the birth proceeded smoothly and Yehuda was shortly wishing the couple a hearty Mazel Tov on the birth of their new son.

The couple was overcome with gratitude to this total stranger who had come out in the middle of the night to their rescue.  For this dedicated volunteer, it was simply “all in a day’s (& night’s) work”.
