About Yisrael Yeret

Yisrael lives in Rechovot and works for a non-profit organization. As he puts it, he was raised on a steady diet of Hatzalah and community service. As a child, Yisrael watched his father race out of the house to save lives as a volunteer medic.  The young boy eagerly awaited the day when he would be old enough to follow in his father’s footsteps.  And follow he did.  At the first opportunity, Yisrael enrolled in an EMT course and began volunteering.  For the past 10 years, Yisrael has been responding to the entire spectrum of medical emergencies as a United Hatzalah volunteer, both day and night.

One small example of his lifesaving activities was when he was volunteering on a United Hatzalah ambulance shift and was alerted to a man who had collapsed while driving.  Yisrael and his crew arrived in less than 30 seconds and immediately began CPR on the pulseless driver. Yisrael grabbed the defibrillator from the ambulance and applied the pads to the man’s bare chest.  Two shocks later the man’s pulse returned and shortly afterwards he began to breathe on his own.

In the matter of minutes, Yisrael and his colleagues had saved a life.  It is no wonder that this devoted volunteer’s motivation for lifesaving hasn’t peaked yet.  With Yisrael, the sky’s the limit.
