David lives with his wife and four children in Bnei Brak. David and works in the field of Sefer Torah doing proofreading and inspections.  David’s entry into the world of lifesaving came about over several years.  He found himself time and time again in situations where people needed immediate medical help.  The type of emergencies varied, but two things always remained the same;  David’s lack of medical training and the orange vested fellows who appeared out of nowhere and saved the day.  After this scenario repeated itself several times, David resolved that he too, wanted to be “one of those orange guys who saves lives.”  He enrolled in the next United Hatzalah EMT course in his area and hit the pavement running.  In less than a year, David’s life totally changed.  In addition to receiving alerts from United Hatzalah dispatch, 24/7, David became the address in his neighborhood for emergency first aid.  Friends, neighbors and acquaintances all know that David is available round the clock to take care of their medical emergencies and inquiries.  David is much busier than he used to be and he doesn’t sleep as much, but this giving individual couldn’t be happier.

One of his many lifesaving incidents was when he was alerted to an unconscious man in neighboring Tel Aviv.  He raced to the scene and arrived seconds after another United Hatzalah medic had just begun CPR.  Joining the battle for life, David aided his colleague with the strenuous chest compressions until additional medical personnel arrived.  After a prolonged and rigorous resuscitation effort, the man’s pulse returned and he began breathing on his own.  The man was whisked away to the hospital and David left the scene with the elated feeling that comes with actually saving a life.
