Schneur works as a school administrator and lives with his wife and three children in Ashdod. This altruistic volunteer entered the world of lifesaving because he wanted to help others and be of service to his community. Schneur has saved many lives, but one story stands out in particular.
A couple had been married many years without children. One day, their prayers were finally answered when they were doubly blessed with not one child, but two! The overjoyed parents doted over their twins and when their first birthday approached, the father went to the store to buy them gifts and treats. The jubilant father had just left the shop when he suddenly collapsed. Panicked passersby alerted United Hatzalah and Schneur sped to the scene. He was the first medical responder on site and the experienced medic immediately began CPR on the pulseless man. With the birthday packages scattered around the fallen father, Schnuer’s adrenalin went into overdrive as he single handedly fought to bring the new father back to life. Additional medical personnel eventually arrived and team administered advanced CPR, as the man’s life hung precariously in the balance. Finally, after a long and tense resuscitation effort, the man’s pulse returned and he was immediately rushed to the hospital for further emergency treatment.
It is often the human element of the save that makes the greatest impact. Saving one life is amazing but keeping a family whole is incredible.
